The Bord Bia Poultry Products Quality Assurance Scheme is an integrated scheme involving the producer and the processing plant working in partnership to provide the customer with quality assured product. The scheme describes the essential quality assurance requirements for chicken, turkey and duck production from level through factory processing to final despatch which are required to meet customer requirements.

Origin Green is Ireland’s pioneering food and drink sustainability programme, operating on a national scale, uniting government, the private sector and the full supply chain from farmers to food producers and right through to the foodservice and retail sectors. Freedom Food is the farm assurance and food labelling scheme established by the RSPCA, one of the world’s leading animal welfare organisations. The scheme is a charity in its own right, set up in 1994 to improve the welfare of farm animals and offer consumers a higher welfare choice.

IGWT Poultry Services Ltd. operates under an E.C. approved slaughtering & cutting facility under the veterinary control of the Department of Agriculture and Food, Specialising in the slaughtering & cutting of raw poultry to the Retail and Food Service Sectors

Environmental Policy

IGWT Poultry Services Ltd are one of Irelands largest turkey producers. IGWT have been involved in the poultry business since 1951, now employing a large team and have a well respected name in the industry for quality and reliability. The plant slaughter and process turkeys and mature hens on site and supply a wide range of raw turkey products to large retailers for their own brand and large food processers.

The environmental policy and associated Environmental Management System covers all aspects of IGWT based at their premises.

IGWT will devote the necessary resources in terms of management, personnel, equipment, finances and facilities to the Environmental Management System and provide all employees with appropriate training.
